~"1964 Prom"~
Remember the days when we used to decorate the gymn ourselves for the Prom and Sadie Hawkins dances? Now the kids hire out a restaurant or hotel danceroom to have those dances in.
Remember that first big dance where you and your mom spent hours shopping for just the right dress? You prayed for that someone special to ask you to the dance. Well I was lucky enough to go to the prom with that special someone, Walter.
I wore a red velvet strapless long gown with white bunny fur across the bodice. I had the white gloves to match and a beautiful wrist corsage to wear with white and red roses in it. My dress was not store bought, my mom and aunt sewed it for me and it was a beautiful one of a kind. I got lots of compliments on it and questions like "Where did you find it?", I'll never tell.
Afterwards a bunch of us went back to a house party where the evening was topped off with talk of the dance and a few more slow dances. My Curfew for the night was 1 am and we got back at my house just in time. Did I ever have wonderful dreams that night.
